Day 212 - No Music

After dinner tonight, Daddy was playing with the computer and playing us some REALLY awful music.  Katelyn decided her ear "mupps" were necessary.

Day 211 - Helper

When she's in the mood, Katelyn is an excellent helper.  She feeds the dogs every morning...if she has too.  And she'll usually help me with the laundry, but her favorite chore is the dishwasher! Katelyn LOVES to load and start the dishwasher!

Day 210 - Nana's Beach

Katelyn has been begging to go to the beach for month's but it's just not going to happen this summer.  Nana wants to go to the beach too, so they built their own!  Nana got a big bag of sand and filled the pool up and they've been at the "beach" two days in a row now!!

Day 209 - Choo Choo

So the new "thing" at our local malls is this train that some poor little old man has to drive around in a circle all day long.  We made the mistake of visiting the mall during train hours and of course, Katelyn had to have a ride! (She can't ride alone, so Mommy had to take a ride too.  Daddy just stood back and took pictures, lol!)

**On a side note, I made the mistake of numbering these posts when I started this blog.  Sometime back in March, I missed numbered one day.  Then in the middle of April, I randomly skipped about 7.  I'm in the process of correcting the dates at the top, but starting from here, they are correct....for now, lol!**

day 208 - Thirsty

Katelyn hasn't really been allowed to have much pop until recently. Today, we were running errands and I got her a can of Sunkist...she's been sipping it all day, trying to make it last, lol!

Day 207 - Silly

We spent the day with Nana!

Day 206 - $1 Night

Pisanello's, a local pizza restaurant, has a $1 night on Monday and Tuesday each week.  You can get a slice of pizza, breadsticks, and a drink for $3!  Katelyn and I think it's still to hot to cook, so we took advantage of $1 night!

Day 205 - storm

We went to see the Winnie the Pooh movie today, and when we got out of the movie, it was thunderstorming. It was raining so hard, you couldn't see, the wind was blowing and the doors of the theater would get stuck open from the wind everytime someone left. We waited it out in the lobby, but our pic of the day is K waiting with the rain in the background!

On our way home from the movies, the rain had fallen so hard it caused flash flooding!

And knocked down trees!

But the biggest shock was when we got home, we were supposed to go to Nana's house for dinner, but we stopped by our house to grab some pork chops.  While we were walking to the car we heard a HUGE crack of lightening!  We went to Nana's and they didn't have power, so everyone came back home and that crack of lightening caused a power surge that ruined our tv, xbox, wii, and knocked out the cable and internet.  We are internetless until Thursday now!  Katelyn had a small heart attack when she realized we had no cable or internet for awhile (she still has a rough grasp of the concept of time, so Thursday is the same distance as all eternity for her, lol!).  But Daddy is taking it the hardest,  he spent the whole day on the phone trying to see if someone else could get us tv back faster than Time Warner.  Thankfully, no one was hurt, so we  can laugh about it, lol!

Day 204 - Crafty

Today, we needed to go to the store and get some things to make a blanket for Emily's crib.  Katelyn's favorite reward for behaving in the craft store is scrapbook paper.  But today, she was able to convince Nana to get her watercolors, glitter crayons, AND a poster board.  So most of her afternoon was spent like this:

Day 202 - Pool Time

Summer is more than halfway over and Katelyn FINALLY got Daddy in the pool with her!!

Day 201 - Lazy

Daddy is off today, and it's too hot to do anything! No kidding, we're waiting for it to cool down to go out to the pool. So we spent the day pretty much like this. Lazy us!

Day 200 - Heat Advisory

It's 93 degrees today and according to our heat advisory, it feels like 109.  This is what Katelyn is wearing today:

Day 199 - Nail Polish

Ricky and Mark babysat while I was at work today!  Katelyn loves it when she gets to hang out with them, so I knew she'd be super spoiled when she came home.  Ricky's latest obsession is nail polish and Katelyn definitely gave the nail polish bin a work out today!  She came home with everyone of her toes painted a different color and Ricky even let her paint her own nail art on her fingernails.

(A few nails are unpolished, because the pool water is not nice to fingernail polish, lol)

Day 198 - Racing

We went to swim at Bethany's pool.  Katelyn is so excited that she is able to swim without floats now!  Bethany took this picture of us "racing" toward the purple ball Katelyn is holding.

Day 197 - Friends

Katelyn got to play with her friends, Thomas and Cory, today!

Day 196 - Hot Air Balloons

This evening, we went to the first night of the Middletown Hot Air Balloon Challenge!  It's the kick off of a whole weekend of races and competitions for hot air ballooners.   We got to see all of the balloons take off for their first challenge, and then a few came back to do a special balloon glow!  It was very cool to see so many balloons at once and up so close! (More pics on Facebook!)

Day 195 - Wheelbarrow

Katelyn can only have toys in her pool if she carries them out and cleans them up herself. (I have to lug out the towels, radio, snacks, ect, so it's a fair trade.) She only had this wheelbarrow a few days before she figured out the most efficient use for it!

Day 194 - Backyard Fun

Aside from our pool, another thing Katelyn and I love about our yard is the firepit!  Today, we decided to stay up late and have a fire and catch lightening bugs.   We had to have s'mores and Daddy and Katelyn had to test out her new bubbles!

Day 193 - New Park!

A few weeks before Katelyn's birthday (yes ALL the way back in April!), we found out they were going to be upgrading the playground at our park!   It was actually supposed to be completed in time for her birthday, but because of all the rain at the beginning of the summer, it just got finished this week.   We had to stop and play on it, on our way home from the doctor's office this morning.  It was SUPER hot outside, so we were only there a minute, but it was long enough for Katelyn to try out the new monkey bars and this nifty climbing toy that looks like pine trees.

Day 192 - Fishin'

Aunt Leslie babysat today and Katelyn has been begging to go fishing, so they did! Katelyn caught a bluegill. (Her cheeks are so red, because it is crazy hot right now...101 degrees today!)

Day 191 - Tree Climbing

Today, was our last day in WV until September.   We had a cook out at my cousin, Colisia's, house.  Katelyn had a blast playing with her cousins, but she was even more excited because they have a tree in their front yard that she can climb!  She had so much fun on this tree!

Day 189 - Movie Night at Aunt Charlotte's

We were hoping to go see Cars 2 at the drive in movie theater tonight, but for some crazy reason, they were playing a scary movie and then the kid movie, so that plan got cancelled. Instead, we are watching Gnomeo and Juliet and eating enough popcorn for 3 movies, lol!

Day 188 - Green Beans

Katelyn and I are going to Aunt Charlotte's house this weekend and we thought we'd be nice and leave Daddy a big pot of green beans, so he doesn't have to cook while we're gone. I was cutting them up and Katelyn insisted that she could help me by breaking them in half. So I let her, thinking she'd get bored and quit after a minute. I was so impressed though, she broke up the whole pot! She's such a good helper...when she wants to be!

Day 187 - Ricky's Pool

Daddy accidentally broke our pool pump, so our pool is out of comission until the new pump arrives this weekend! Luckily, Ricky came to our rescue and invited us to swim at her apartment today! Her pool is just a bit too deep for Katelyn to touch the bottom, so she needed arm floats and she looked super goofy in her arm floats and goggles!

Day 186 - Bieber Backpack

Yesterday, Daddy and Katelyn picked me up from work, so we could go out for lunch and then we made more plans and my car just got left at Kmart overnight.  So after our doctor appointment this morning, we had to stop by Kmart and pick up my car.  Much to Katelyn's delight, they were putting out the backpacks for back to school and she finally got to fulfill her wish of getting a Justin Bieber backpack for Kindergarten!   I can not even believe she starts Kindergarten in 8 weeks!!

Day 185 - Happy 4th of July!!

When Mark and Bethany went on vacation a few weeks ago, they stopped on the way home and bought a bunch of fireworks to do at our cookout on the 3rd.  Well, after the boys got to do a few little fireworks, they were determined to get some big stuff for tonight!   Mark, James, Matt, and Matt's buddy, Ryan, all chipped in to get a whole bunch of fun stuff.  Yesterday, I posted Katelyn showing off her fireworks...well, here's Daddy showing off his, lol!!

The boys (and Bethany and James' sister, Leslie) had a blast setting off fireworks and two of our neighbors had them as well, so our whole neighborhood was lit up!  We had quite the fireworks show and we never left the house!!   After watching them set off a few Roman Candles last night, Katelyn was determined to set off a few of her own.  (This picture looks WAY scarier than it actually was, lol!! My camera had a long exposure and filmed the whole trail of the thing as one long path, it really just shoots out small green and red balls.)

Day 184 - Fireworks

We're celebrating with a cook out and some fireworks tonight! Katelyn was helping Ricky carry out the goodies and she had to snap this picture!

Day 183 - Yard Sale Day

It's yard sale day and of course, its pouring the rain. Katelyn wanted her own yard sale, so we set her up to try and sell her baby dolls.

Day 182 - Uncle Matt

Today we spent the evening setting up our yard sale for tomorrow. Katelyn really wanted to sit up with uncle matt, so we put her up there for picture of the day!
