Day 364 - Gaming again...

I'll try and make this the last gaming post!  I just can't believe Katelyn is big enough to play these games by herself.   : (  And I really love that she wants James to help her!

Day 363 - Bedtime Story

Mama and Papa went home today. : (  Nana came over to help me run errands with the girls and Katelyn was CRANKY!  So we decided and early bed time was in order.  Nana read to the girls at 6:30 and Katelyn was asleep by 7:15!

Day 362 - Doctoring Emily

Mama and Katelyn played doctor for most of today and Emily got to be a patient!

Day 361 - Mama and Papa Visit

Mama and Papa came to visit today!!  Katelyn has been super excited for this since the second we told her they were coming!

Day 360 - Lalaloopsy House

Bethany and Mark got Katelyn a Lalaloopsy doll for Christmas.  I do not know what the point of this doll is, other than she has creepy button eyes.  Katelyn loves her though!  She decided Lala needed a house and Uncle Matt generously donated a shoe box to the cause.  So Katelyn and I spent our afternoon decorating a Lalaloopsy House.

I cut the pieces and Katelyn glued:

Katelyn colored her wall paper!  And, Lala got to be the first toy to sit on Justin Bieber's dining room chair, lucky girl!

Day 357 - Blocks

We borrowed The Tigger Movie from Nana and Katelyn's had it on all day today!  I'm sad, because she had built The Hundred Acre Wood out of blocks today, but before I got  a picture, she turned it into a princess castle!

Day 356 - Emily Smiles

Today, Katelyn finally got to "play" with Emily!  She still isn't awake too much, but the few minutes that she is, she's really cute!  She's started coo-ing and smiling!  If you make a face or smile at her, she smiles back.  And Katelyn and I noticed this morning, if you stick your tongue out at her, she'll stick hers out at you!  I was trying to get a picture of her sticking her tongue out at Katelyn, but I got her grinning instead!

Day 355 - December 21

It's 3 days until Christmas.  I took this picture this afternoon:

That's right, it's 60 degrees today.  In Ohio.  In December.  That's all I can say about that.


Emily started smiling last week.   It's so cute and she LOVES to grin at Daddy when he makes funny faces!

Day 354 - Nice List

Katelyn is determined to believe in Santa this year.  James found this website to make an adorable video, that tells kids whether they are on the nice list or the naughty list.  It includes pictures of your child, plus facts about them and Santa says their name, so it's super believable!  Katelyn loved it and she was thrilled to be on the nice list!

(Finding out she was on the nice list, it's blurry because she was jumping, lol!)

We spent the day with Nana and Pappap.

Day 353 - Wrapping Presents

Katelyn is totally ready for Christmas.  She spent the day playing Santa.  First, she filled my stocking with books from my bookshelf, and her's and Emily's with toys from her room.  Then, she decided she needed to wrap presents.  For some reason, she chose a tissue box.  And then, instead of using a whole sheet of paper, she cut a sheet into 1" strips and taped them to the box.  I don't know why.

Day 352 - Animal Headbands

I think I've mentioned Katelyn's Nina and Star craft projects on here before.   Today, she made animal headbands again.  She made Christmas themed ones!  She made herself Rudolph and she made Emily Frosty!

Day 351 - Lights at the Zoo

We went to see the lights at the Zoo today.   We didn't plan very well, so we didn't get to see much, but we still had fun!!

Day 350 - Ticket Please!

Today was Emily's 2 month doctor appointment.  She's gained 3 lbs and grown 3 inches since she was born!!  She had to get shots today too and she did super!  After her appointment, I got Katelyn from school and we went to run errands.  I can tell she's ready for Christmas break, because she's been soo tired this week.  This is at the end of our errand running, lol!

Then, we decided to watch movies tonight, since there are lots of kid friendly movies on right now!   Last week, we watched Polar Express, which is adorable!  It's a movie about a little boy who takes a train ride to the North Pole and on the train, everyone needs a ticket.  Katelyn made us all tickets for our movie train tonight!  Here is Emily with hers:

Day 349 - Presents!

Katelyn is loving checking the mailbox right now, because we keep getting cards and gifts in the mail!  Yesterday, she got her own special card from Nana and Pappap and today, we got presents from Colisia!  Katelyn was super excited to get this dress, because it had one to match her baby doll!

She's been playing with her baby a lot recently, she loves to imitate the things I do with Emily.  It's super cute!  

At school today, she had her class party and they did a book exchange.  Katelyn was super excited about the book she ended up with.  They were randomly given out, but somehow, she ended up with a Sesame Street book where Grover takes care of a baby named Emily! How fun is that?!

Day 348 - Santa, again

For some reason, all the kids got to see Santa at school today.  It's Katelyn's third Santa visit, lol!

Day 347 - Lazy Day

Katelyn and I spent the vast majority of today playing Super Mario Bros. 3 on the Wii.  We got to level 2.  We are not very good, lol!  In the short break while I was cooking dinner, Katelyn was dressing up as a hunter and helping keep Emily from fussing.

Day 346 - Waiting for Trains

Daddy had to have a tooth pulled today and since he wasn't sure he could drive after, we all had to go wait at the dentists with him.   This could have been torture, but the office had a train table and Katelyn played quietly with it the whole hour and 30 minutes we were there!!

Day 345 - Sleepy

I have a yucky cold.  We went to spend the day at Nana's and she took pity on me and let me sleep.  She took this cute picture of Katelyn, in her super messy Nana's house room!  (I'm not sure what the deal with the pink straw is, other than she's using it as a whistle.)

Day 344 - Santa Run

Today, Katelyn was impatiently waiting for me outside of the door when I finished my shower.  She just had to tell me this crazy story, about how she had heard sirens and when she went to the window there was an ambulance with Santa Claus on the back and waved at her!  So, I think "wow, that is a really wild imagination today!" and tell her, "Cool story!" and start getting ready to dry my hair.  A few seconds later, I hear the sirens again and I decided to check it out and I saw this:

A firetruck, lights and sirens going, in a caravan with this truck pulling Santa and a lady in a car in the middle.  I opened the door, so Katelyn could go on the porch and wave.  And then it really gets weird, the whole caravan stops and an elf! opens the back of the little car and waves Katelyn over, so she could visit Santa.   I couldn't make this up if I tried, lol!!

The lady in the car took this photo and she told me that they do this every year and we could get our pictures from the fire department website.  Santa gave Katelyn a little bag of candy and then they were on their way!  The Franklin Township Fire Dept. does the Santa Run every year according to their website.   They even have it GPS tracked, so you can see when Santa will get to your neighborhood!  I don't know how we missed it last year, but I know Katelyn will be looking forward to it next year!

Day 343 - Let it Snow!

Today, there were snow flurries and we were Christmas shopping with Nana, when we stumbled across the cutest thing!  It's was a Snowman Kit!  It comes with everything you need to decorate a snowman, down to the carrot (reusable!) and a pipe!   We didn't get any real snow at all, so Katelyn decorated herself!

Day 342 - Christmas Lights

One of our holiday traditions is visiting the lights at Smith Park.  It only costs a small donation and it's a very pretty display!  Tonight, we went for the first time this year, and of course, I didn't take my good camera.

Day 341 - Sick Day

Today, Mommy was sick.  Katelyn didn't feel so hot either.  I decided it would be a good day to spend the afternoon on the couch watching movies!  It turned out really well, lol!

Day 340 - Teaching Emily

Katelyn has been dying to play school with Emily since we brought her home.   For some reason, Emily will sit calmly in the bouncy seat, until I put her by the "school" and then she fusses. But today, Katelyn finally got to spend 10 minutes playing school!
