Day 117 - My girls

Day 116 - Mornings

Mornings are the worst.  No one in my house is a morning person.   Having Emily has been a plus and a minus for mornings.  On the plus side, Katelyn is super excited to get up and see Emily.  On the minus, she then has to do everything where she can see Emily from getting dressed to eating her breakfast.

Emily is so fun now that she rolls!!  Since she figured out rolling, she's also figured out how to scoot herself forward and sometimes backward.  Her favorite people to chase down are Katelyn and Zoe.  She's trying to steal Katelyn's Alpha Bits here.

Day 115 - Pie

Katelyn came home from school today asking to make pie.  They must have talked about fractions or something today, because she doesn't even like pie.  But since we already had most of the ingredients and Nana was coming over, I said she could make one.

Day 114 - Check Ups

The girls had their check ups today.  Katelyn's 6 year (I know, I can't believe it either!) and Emily's 6 month.   Everybody looks great! Katelyn has 20/20 vision and her weight and height are excellent!  Emily is almost 17 lbs, little piggy, lol!!  And the Dr wants me to try and get her to wake up for one less bottle at night.  Good luck with that, lol!!  She got her vaccines updated also.  I was nervous about getting two appointments at one time, but they did really good!

Bonus picture:  Our car came with a dvd player (you know, here's $79 since you're paying us a couple grand, LOL!) and Katelyn is in LOVE!  She'll go on a car ride anytime if she can take her movies!

Day 113 - McDonald's with Nana

We took the new car to visit Nana to work for her lunch!  She wanted to go to McDonald's and Katelyn and Nana fed Emily her first McDonald's french fry!

Emily wasn't impressed.

Day 112 - Dayton

Today was a BUSY day!  I had planned to go to Dayton for a cloth diaper event, stop by my dad's work and say hi if I could find it and go home and take a nap until it was time for my friend's birthday.  It didn't quite happen that way!

I did go to the Great Cloth Diaper Change event in Dayton.  It was in this cute community garden called Garden Station.  They had some neat artwork and a green house made out of pop bottles!  (I should have taken more photos, but it was cold and rainy.)

Getting ready!  They were trying to set a world record for the most cloth diapers changed at one time, so we all had to wait for 12:30.

Emily and some of the other babies!  Unfortunately, our group didn't end up making the 25 baby requirement, so we didn't count.  : (

Now our day takes a new direction.  I was supposed to be looking for Pappap's Dollar Tree, but instead,  James texted me to go vacuum out my car and meet him at Evan's Volkswagen.   (We had gotten a letter about a promotion they were running this week and had been back and forth for a few days on whether we wanted to waste the time to check it out.)    Emily's big girl car seat will not fit in the Jetta rear facing and the new recommendation is to keep kids rear facing until 2 or longer, so we needed to address this situation.   So we headed to the dealership.

First, we had to talk Emily out of a convertible, lol!!

Then we had to wait for the dealer to walk to the bank and get our papers...or something. It takes a million years to buy a car.  Lucky for Daddy and Emily, there was tv!

Our new baby!  Not super happy that it's white, but I'm totally in love with the inside, so I'll deal.

93 miles!

But it was a little sad to leave Vinny behind.  We've had that car for 5 years, it's the only car Katelyn can remember us having!!  She cried when we told her we didn't bring it home.  She loves the new car too though, because she can reach the ceiling light and we got a travel dvd player for her!

Day 111 - Runaway Baby

A week ago this baby could barely wiggle!

Now she's making a break for the front door, silly girl!!

Day 110 - The girls and Pappap

It was a Nana and Pappap day today!

Day 109 - Emily is 6 months!

Daddy thought 6 months would be a good time to get Emily in on his yard maintenance routine, lol!

No more dandelions.  : (

Day 108 - Sisters

Emily LOVES Katelyn.  The first time Emily rolled over, it was because she was trying to follow Katelyn.   She always gets the biggest smile when Katelyn comes in a room and she really loves playing with Katelyn.  It's SO SO cute to watch them together.   Katelyn is really in for it when Emily learns how to walk!

Day 107 - Rocket Man

Daddy and Katelyn decided they wanted to make a volcano with baking soda and vinegar.  Some how, while google searching directions, they got side tracked by rockets!   Today, they made one with a small pop bottle and a wine cork.  (It was so much fun shopping for a wine bottle with a cork that would fit my pop bottle, that didn't cost an arm and a leg, since wine is gross and I was just dumping it out, lol!!)  Katelyn and Daddy assembled it and then set it off in the driveway!

Katelyn seriously had a blast! (no pun intended!)  Stay tuned, because they are currently working on a bigger one you shoot off with air!

106 - Silly girls and a movie

This morning was a very rare morning when Katelyn didn't have school AND Daddy was off work.  Those two things rarely coincide.  So they spent the morning being silly and poor Emily got to play along too!

Then, Katelyn got to go see The Lorax with Nana, Pappap, and Ricky.  She was SO excited to go see this movie with Ricky (that was the most important part, sorry Nana) that I got her to clean her room AND put away her laundry in order to go, lol!!

Day 105 - Visit with Mamaw and Papaw

Katelyn and Emily went to visit Mamaw and Papaw today!  She loves seeing them!

And Emily decided to go for one last milestone before she hits 6 months this week!

She's a sitter!  Kind of, lol!  She sat for 10ish minutes and even caught herself once or twice, but she still needs a spotter for now!

Day 104 - Dandelion Fluff

Daddy hates dandelions.   This is our yard right now.  Poor Daddy.

Day 103 - Here Kitty, Kitty

Emily is a good little roller now and sometimes, she'll even stay on her tummy for two or three minutes!  She really hates her belly.  Today, she spent a good ten minutes trying to figure out how to get to the cat.  She can wiggle on her belly, but the kitty is faster!  Poor kitty, he's really in for it in a few weeks, when she figures out how to crawl!

Day 102 - Flashing Lights

A few weeks ago, one of Katelyn's skating friends conned her grandma into buying them these light up pacifiers for the "black out" skate.

Katelyn loves this thing, but I won't let her skate with it in her mouth, lol!

Day 101 - Fun with Mirrors

Today we took a trip to IKEA, and we took a short cut and ended up in the mirror department.  The girls were in love!

Day 100 - Emily and Zoe

Zoe helped Nana baby sit this morning!

Day 99 - Happy Easter

Day 98 - Mowing the Lawn

Katelyn helped Daddy mow the grass today!

Day 97 - Cousins

Today, Colisia and her family came in to go to the zoo with TC and his family, since they live near us now. We didn't do the zoo, but after they finished, everyone stopped by Kmart and we met them for some pizza!! Colisia got to meet Emily for the first time!

Day 96 - Ballet

It was visitor's day at ballet again!  As usual, Katelyn was far too busy making sure I was watching to actually dance, lol!!

Day 95 - Wildflowers

Katelyn loves the "flowers" in Nana's yard.  They are really weeds, but you can't tell her that, lol!!

Day 94 - Spring Break

This week is Spring Break. I don't think I've ever been so excited for a week off and we aren't even going anywhere!  Katelyn, on the other hand, thinks she's having a sick day.  She got up this morning and told me that since we didn't have to go anywhere today, she was wearing pajamas all day!  Sounds good to me, lol!!

We found The Land Before Time sequels on Netflix (all 9 million of them!) and spent the whole day pretty much like this, lol!

Day 93 - Bedtime Stories

I'm so excited to post this picture!!  Katelyn is reading Emily a bedtime story!!  And notice there's no " " around reading, that's because she's actually reading it.   I LOVE that she can read and that she's really excited to do it!

Emily kept trying to steal the book though, lol!

Katelyn picked this book because it's about a little blue gosling named BooBoo and that's also our nickname for Emily!

Day 92 - Easter Eggs

Everyone works next weekend, so we did Easter with Nana today!  Katelyn was SOOO excited to color eggs with Ricky, it was really cute!

Day 91 - Making Lunch

I know I've done a blog before where we've made these little pizzas, but today, Katelyn was extra excited about making them, because she got to use Nana's pasta maker to flatten the dough!

(She wasn't cooperating for picture taking today, so this is as good as it gets, lol!)
