Day 203 - New Stuff

Katelyn's back pack came today, which officially marks the end of my back to school shopping!  Woohoo!

She had a very specific list of requests for this thing, the most important being that it's a messenger bag!  She's so funny!

And we got a new to us couch today!

The girls had to sit on it and break it in immediately, LOL

Day 202 - Dinner Time Giggles

These two were so silly at dinner tonight.  All giggles!

Day 201 - More napping

Oops, I didn't realize that all my pics were napping this week!!  Poor kids are worn out, it's been a busy summer!!  We ran errands today, while Katelyn was at a sleep over and Emily knocked out in the car before we got home:

Katelyn got to go to a birthday sleepover with one of her besties.  Look how cute they are!

Day 200 - Naptime

Emily isn't usually a snuggly sleeper...she likes her dark, quiet room.  But this afternoon, she crawled up on my lap, shoved my computer out of the way, settled in with peep and baby and passed out.

Day 199 - Sharing a room...

As long as we've had Emily, Katelyn has been ridiculously excited at the idea of having her baby sister in her room.  Last night, I went in to check on them and discovered this:

Apparently, now they're sharing a bed too.

Day 198 - Blondies...

The sun has turned my brown hair girls blonde!  (Well, not quite as blonde as this photo makes it look, but still!)

Day 197 - Less Noise

Katelyn decided she was pianist today...luckily Nana figured out this nifty guide for her, so it sounds more like music and less like noise!

Day 196 - Noisy Girls

Day 195 - Look what Papa gave me!

Katelyn somehow conned Papa out of a keyboard this weekend!  She loves it so much!

Day 194 - 60th Anniversary!

We went in for Mama and Papa's 60th Anniversary party this weekend!  I wish James had been able to come with us, but I love this picture even though he's missing!

Day 193 - Sweet Girls

This morning the girls got up extra early and cuddled up to watch cartoons.  So sweet.

Day 192 - Madcap Puppets

We have a local company that does really fun puppet shows.  I paid to see them do Rumplestiltskin last year and now I follow their Facebook page so I can find free shows!  Today the girls got to see them do a bunch of short fairy tales. It was outside and I wish we'd brought chairs, but the show was very funny and they both loved it!  (They also were giving out silly glasses for some reason).

Day 191 - SkateWay

We went roller skating today!  Katelyn has been asking for weeks and it's only gotten worse since I found her some American Girl stuff on Craigslist and the bag included a pair of roller blades for her doll.  We took her friend, Elise, with us.

Day 190 - Emily IN the pool!

I got Emily to get in the water a little today!  She thought she was super funny pouring water on Mommy's toes!

Day 189 - Big Girls

Tonight was Katelyn's 4th gymnastics class!  Where is this summer going:?!

Katelyn is doing super good and learning how to get better at what she knows and learning her body so she can move on to more advanced stuff.  It looks kind of boring to me, but Katelyn loves it.   Emily wishes she was big enough to "bumble".  Right after I took this picture, the instructor put her face on the glass in front of Emily and made a goofy face and scared the crap out of her...it was hilarious. (Unless you were Emily, lol)

Day 188 - It's SUNNY!!!

It's been pouring rain for most of the week.  We had a sunny spot this afternoon and the girls took advantage of it!

Day 187 - Flea Market

We had planned to show Daddy how much fun garage sale-ing was today, but the weather did not cooperate.  Daddy decided the flea market would be the same thing (it wasn't), but we had fun and Katelyn loved posing with all the goofy junk!

Day 186 - Fifth of July

Since everybody worked last night, we had our Fourth of July cook out tonight!

Katelyn was really excited to set up our centerpiece:

There's more pictures on FB.  Emily seriously loved poppers!

Day 185 - 4th of July

So we had planned to go to a festival and fireworks tonight, but it was POURING.  We drove out to the festival anyway, but it was pretty dead.  The fireworks website said they weren't going to be cancelled, so we remembered there's a restaurant we like to eat at nearby and they had a "game" so it was kind of like a festival, LOL!!

The girls were super excited to find an ice cream truck on the way to our fireworks watching spot and Katelyn had a blast catching lightening bugs while we waited.  Unfortunately, I forgot the memory card for my camera, so I don't have any good pics.

Day 184 - Pool Day

My opposites...Katelyn won't come out of the water and Emily won't get in it, lol!

Daddy came with us!  I think he's eating in the picture, lol, but Katelyn was totally thrilled to show off for him!

Day 183 - Kings Island

For our second day of "staycation", we decided to take Katelyn to Kings Island.  We haven't been in a few years...it's crazy expensive if you don't have a pass and with little kids, we don't go enough to make it worth the pass price.   We had Nana hang out with Emily though and Katelyn, if she stood super straight, is big enough to ride the big rides!  She and Daddy talked super excitedly of all the awesome roller coaster she was going on last night, but I thought we should start with a tamer one first.  So Katelyn's first "real" roller coaster was The Racer.

She looks happy in this picture and she REALLY tried to love it, but she was pretty much ready for kiddie land as soon as this was over.  Silly girl.  We had a really great day though!

Day 182 - Sand Box

For our first day of "staycation" (that's a silly word for a vacation where you don't go anywhere, lol), we decided to finally get the girls sandbox filled.  We've been waiting for some stuff to fall into place so we can buy a house and we'd put off doing it so we didn't have to move it, but the summer is halfway over so we decided to just do it!

Katelyn loves the sand box and she was covered head to toe in sand the instant we said go!  Emily on the other hand...that top right picture is actually her climbing OUT, she hated it the instant her foot hit the sand lol.  She kept trying, but as soon as she got sand between her fingers, she was asking me to wipe her hands. It's so funny how opposite they are!

Day 181 - Daddy's on vacation!!!

Today was an exciting day!  Daddy has worked the last 8 days in a row, but tonight starts his vacation!  The girls are so excited to have him home for a whole week!  We decided to reward him with his favorite pizza for dinner!
