Daddy had to take a detour today and he called to have the girls watch on the porch and see his truck. I thought it would be cute to get a picture of them waving at him though and I was right!! It turned out adorable!

Day 180 - Computer Time
We've been really busy and I've been slacking on computer stuff. I'm behind on the blog and all my scrapbook pages. Today, we played outside a little, but we decided a lazy day at home was a good plan. Emily is so funny, she wants to make sure she doesn't get left out of anything everyone else is doing. If you have something on your phone and you show it to someone, she will stand at your leg and shout "Let me see!! See!!! SEEE!!!" until you show it to her. And then, it doesn't matter what is on the screen, she says "aw, cute!". Hilarious. Today, I was showing Daddy a picture I took of his truck when he drove by today and Emily wanted to see too...and then she wouldn't leave, lol!
Day 178 - Goofy Emily
Emily's pig tails make for some seriously funny bed head:
And we went to the pool today! I usually pack a ton of snacks and Emily's hands down favorite is cheese Pringles. She isn't very impressed with the water, but she loves to sit in my chair and pick the Pringles out of the can. Today, Mommy forgot the Pringles.
This was tragedy for at least 5 minutes before I convinced her popcorn would do. I got tons of dirty looks for this....I can't decide if it was because she was screaming, because I was taking a picture of it, or because I was giving her junk food, LOL!!
Day 177 - Garage Salin'
So this morning started kind of early. We've moved Emily into the pack 'n play in Katelyn's room and it's really bright in there, so she's up at the crack of dawn, but then she won't nap. Makes for a long day. And Katelyn is being extra whiny too....beginning at 8 am, when she was crying because she never gets mail?! What even. Well, I was not going to spend a whole day this way and it was threatening rain again. Blah. For some reason, I thought today was Saturday and I said "hey! Let's go find some garage sales!" Which Katelyn was instantly thrilled about and headed off to find her wallet full of change....because it will be so fun if I spend my money, Mommy! You won't have to buy me anything!! I had a moment of panic when I remembered today was actually Thursday, but a quick look at Craigslist showed me people apparently do have garage sales on Thursday. I made a list of 10 or so in our general area, thinking we'd hit two or three and Emily might nap and Katelyn would find some junk to keep her occupied. This day was a total WIN. We had SO MUCH FUN.
The first sale was the next street over from our house and Katelyn got a notebook for a quarter. She really thought it was super cool to count out her money and choose her things to buy. She ran into a friend and one of her teachers too, which was even better. After finding a toy guitar and meeting another friend at our second stop she was REALLY into it. She helped spot other sales from the road and decided whether we needed to stop or not. She didn't shed a single tear when we didn't find anything at a sale to buy or when I bought something for Emily but not for her. We probably hit 20 sales. We had lunch at a farm market, Emily took a nap, and it was just overall a really fun day. We'll definitely be garage saling again!

And probably the best part of the day, I found rails for Emily's bed (which I hadn't even thought we needed but couldn't pass up for $8)
Since the rails make the bed feel like the pack 'n play or her crib....she slept the whole night in her big girl bed!!! No more crib for this kiddo!
Day 176 - Splash!
Our yard sale was an epic fail last time, and I've been trying to unload all our outgrown baby stuff via Craigslist and Facebook garage sales. Today, I had to meet someone to sell a car seat and Katelyn was not very happy about it. She didn't know I had a surprise for her though! It's been threatening to rain all week and I haven't wanted to lug all our stuff to the pool so we haven't been in any water this week. Today, I remembered the splash pad!
We played for about an hour until we saw lightening! Katelyn had a blast, but Emily still hates water spraying her face. Poor kid!
Day 176 - Night, Night Baby
Emily had fun playing with Saige today and tucking her in. Nana saw this picture on Instagram and decided we need the bunting bench at our house. That will show up later, but let's just say Emily is in love!
Day 175 - American Girl Store
Katelyn got an American Girl doll for her birthday. Once you purchase something from them, they email you every other day and send you actual mail, like twice a week. I'm convinced the dolls would cost 25% less if they reduced their mail LOL!! I was really excited, however, when we got an email that said they were opening a store in Columbus. The American Girl store is a big deal, some of them are a couple of stories tall, they display the dolls like a museum, they have a doll hair salon and a restaurant where you can have a tea party with your doll! And the nearest one to us before was in Chicago. I really want to go back for a tea party, but today we went up to have lunch and surprise Katelyn. And she was THRILLED. Lunch was ridiculously adorable. Everything was mini and they carried their star logo into some of the food. Katelyn got a special seat to sit her doll in and they let her order pretend food for her doll which came on a doll sized plate. Super cute. The food wasn't crazy expensive and it was all very tasty...there wasn't one thing we were even a little disappointed by. I had planned to get her doll's hair fixed at the hair salon, but Nana fixed it so cute that morning that we used the money to get a lunch box and food for the doll. And Nana and Ricky spoiled her rotten too. It was a really great day! (You know it must have been special, because we drove 2 hours to spend $50+ each on food and tiny doll things and no one was let down at all, LOL!)
Day 174 - Playing Dress Up
Katelyn was supposed to be cleaning their room, but instead they had to show me their cops and robbers hats....Katelyn was being the cop and Emily was the robber...LOL!
Day 173 - Birthday Dinner
Today was my friend, Madonna's birthday party. Katelyn loves Madonna's birthday dinner because she gets to see Dustin!
And Emily liked watching the cars go by! Lucky for her, there was a car show downtown and there was lots for her to see! She can say truck and car, but not motorcycle. So she kept saying "There's a truck! There's a car! There's a WHEE!" So funny!

Day 172 - Busy Day
We had a very busy day today and it ended with a visit to Nana and Pappap's. Obviously, we stayed way too late because Emily brought all her blankets in and made a bed in front of Nana's refrigerator!

Day 169 - 20 Months
Emily is 20 months old today! So big! (Although, she still won't give up that pacifier!) Today we stayed for Katelyn's art in the park class, since the weather was predicting rain. Emily really would have preferred to be home napping, so she hung out in the backpack for most of it!
And the rain never materialized, so we ended up at the pool.
I love that picture of Katelyn jumping! It's hard to tell, but she was playing with two other little girls and they were racing and jumping into the pool. She had so much fun!
Day 168 - New Summer Activites
Today, we finally made it to the library to start the summer reading program! I asked for a kit for Katelyn and the librarian said Emily could participate this year too! (It counts for her if I read to her!)
(Katelyn is reading a dinosaur joke book...be super glad you weren't there for that, lol!! They are very bad!)
Then, Katelyn got to start her tumbling classes today! She wants to do cheerleading and she loved the cartwheel part of acrobat class this year, so we decided to try it out this summer. I'm not really sure how it will go...it requires precision and a lot of practicing the same thing over and over. Neither thing is something Katelyn enjoys, poor kid. She did really have fun in this class though, especially practicing whatever this is:
Day 167 - Emily and Katelyn's Room
Since she's been alive, Emily has slept in my room. Our house only has two bedrooms and I thought that would be easier on Katelyn, she wouldn't get woken up in the middle of the night and then be too tired for school. Plus, Emily has proven to be a very particular sleeper. She likes white noise and total darkness, Katelyn likes her nightlight and tv on. I've been dreading moving Emily to Katelyn's room, even though Katelyn has been begging me too, basically since Emily was born.
Today, we took the first step to transitioning Emily into Katelyn's room. I don't think it's fair to Katelyn if she can't have her tv or her light (we picked the tv) and Emily will have an easier life if she learns to sleep with more distractions. So we moved the pack and play into Katelyn's room. (I'm thinking if Emily won't sleep, I have my room for a back up and the pack and play will keep her in place, so she knows she's actually in there too sleep.)
First, we had to clean Katelyn's bedroom and make sure that ALL of the tiny Barbie, Littlest Pet, Polly Pocket, ect, toys were cleaned up. That was a big task! (Katelyn's kind of a slob, lol)

Once it was all cleaned, we moved the pack and play in! (The sheets are off the bunk bed because I realized we hadn't washed them since I put them on in January, they were kind of dusty!)
Then, it was time to show it to Emily! She was very excited and wanted to get right in! Zoe and Finn came to check it out too!
And then Katelyn figured out that she could put Emily in and out of the pack and play. This made for about 20 minutes of Emily standing in front of it saying "want in?" and after Katelyn put her in, she'd turn around and say "want out?"
I was pretty nervous about bedtime and it did take FOREVER for Emily to fall asleep...she didn't go until it was dark, which is 10 pm right now! But, she DID fall asleep!
Big girl! One step closer to sleeping in her big girl bed!

Day 166 - Trains
When Katelyn was 2 or 3, I got her a Dora the Explorer train set. I loathe this toy. The tracks don't meet up right, the yellow house doesn't connect right, only one door opens with the train even though all 3 look like they should. The cars don't connect right (we have two that can only be the front unless one rides backwards.) It's just crazy annoying. Katelyn would insist that we play with it and then cry when it wouldn't work the way it should. Eventually, it got boxed up and hidden in the back of a closet. This week, Emily decided she loves cars and while we were digging out cars, I found the train pieces, which made Katelyn insist we get the train out. Luckily, her 7 year old self understand much better than her 3 year old self, that you can't play with the whole track unless you don't want to use the yellow house and your track will always have a bump in it where the last two pieces don't connect right, and she and Emily have been having so much fun the last few days messing with it! This morning, it's the first thing they wanted to do when they got up!
Day 165 - Linus
Emily LOVES her blanket, like it has a name and it goes everywhere and she just really loves it. For places that "Baby", her big blanket, can't go, Nana made her two smaller blankets. One is a cute flower print and the other one is COW! (When she's talking about her blanket, she never just says "cow' she yells it!) Cow lives in the diaper bag, and I can't be in the car more than a few seconds before Emily begins her chant of "Peep! COW! Peep! COW!!!" Which she continues until she has both her pacifier and her cow blanket....yeah, I am not looking forward to taking the pacifier away from her. Cow usually makes it from the car to our destination and the pool is no exception. While, it doesn't actually go in the pool, you know Emily is ready to go when she gets cow and peep and climbs onto my lap at the side of the pool. Today, she was ready to go basically when we got there and she spent most of the time wandering around the pool holding cow and looking pathetic:
Silly kid. (In case you can't tell, COW is the cow printed square of fabric she's laying on lol!)
Day 164 - Snow Dogs
Nana babysat Katelyn and Emily for me today, so I could go to the grocery store. They had snacks and played on Nana's porch!
Then Katelyn got to spend the night! She watched Snow Dogs over and over!
Which led to her spending all of the next day pretending she was a dentist like the guy in the movie, lol!
Day 163 - Loungin'
Another pool day. Emily wasn't really into the water today, but she did like hanging out on our blanket and watching the people. (I really love this picture for some reason...she has the cutest little block feet lol!)
Day 162 - Another day, more pool
So, if it's even a little sunny and mostly warm, the girls are begging for the pool! Since they are super good at the pool and it makes them sleepy, I'm all for it. Plus, I haven't heard the words "I'm bored" yet this summer. It means I have less computer time, so updating the blog is kind of tricky. You can see new pictures every day on FB or Instagram, though! You can check out my Instagram on a computer here:

Emily and I usually hang out in the fenced in baby area. I like it, because if she wiggles away from me, it's no big deal. She can get in and out of the little pool alone and I don't have to worry about her landing in the big pool. Katelyn spends a lot of time in the 2 ft pool right now, as she gets used to swimming again. She loves to run up to the fence and yell, "Hey, Mama!! Guess what I can do?" Today, she finally got brave enough to go under without her goggles on!

Shortly after this, she decided she could swim in the big pool and then go off the diving board! There's a video on Facebook. I'm pretty sure she'll spend the rest of her summer in the diving board line, LOL!
When we get home from the pool, the girls are super sleepy! Nana made Katelyn a special blanket, and of course Emily already has her special blanket. I made them into burritos while I cooked dinner, and Emily actually stayed in hers!
Tired girls!
