Day 90 - Happy Easter

Since we celebrated with Nana and Pappap last week, we spent today with Mamaw and Papaw.   It was kind of a dreary day and Katelyn still isn't feeling awesome, but we were determined to do an egg hunt.  I'm SO glad we did, because Emily LOVED it!  And Katelyn had a lot of fun too.  After we showed Emily what to do, she had so much fun running around the yard putting eggs in her basket and saying "Egg!" everytime she saw one!

Katelyn was determined to find the "golden egg" and get the special prize.  I wish I'd taken a picture of her face when she realized that it was matching sparkly silver shoes for her and Emily.  She had such a good day!

When Katelyn was born, one of my great aunts sent her this adorable dress and because of the seasons, she was never able to wear it.  Emily, however, ended up being the perfect size to have it as her Easter dress this year!

She's kind of a tomboy though, when I put it on her, she kept picking at the skirt and saying "No! No! No, no, no!"  I had to distract her with cheese its, lol!

Day 89 - Play Food

Katelyn is kind of feeling better today.  Better enough to play anyway!  I got suckered into a clearance toy kitchen at work the other day and Emily and Katelyn spent the afternoon making me "specials".

Day 88 - Sick Katelyn Day 3

Today, Nana decided Katelyn would be comfy convalescing in the arm chairs, at least Emily had trouble reaching her.  (Don't think for a second that Emily left her alone though!  I pulled her out of the chair more than once!)  And just in case fending off her little sister wasn't enough...Finn decided he could make her feel better too!

Day 87 - Sick Katelyn Day 2

So as you can see, we haven't really moved.  Katelyn spent the day lounging on the floor...Emily spent the day finding various ways to "help" her.  Mostly this involves shoving a sippy cup in her face and saying "juice! juice!", offering her 'nacks only to change her mind and eat it at the last second, and laying all over her in an attempt to cuddle.

You can see how she's brought all of her toys over and put them on Katelyn's blankets so they can "play" and she's casually sitting on all of Katelyn's pillows so she can't lay back down.  Emily has no patience for sick people lol.

Day 86 - Sick Katelyn Day 1

So the next three posts are sick Katelyn.  We have all had a little stomach bug this week to varying degrees. I just felt yucky, Emily threw up once, and Katelyn....well, Katelyn has thrown up once a day for three days and is languishing on the floor.  We haven't been very exciting, since no one feels like doing anything.  Sorry for the boring pics!


Tonight, she begged me to buy Lilo and Stitch (I really wanted Peter Pan!) and then she fell asleep before the opening credits finished!  (We can buy movies off of Amazon without leaving the house now and watch them instantly...yeah, that was not a great discovery for the checkbook, lol!)

Day 83 - Easter Eggs

We colored eggs at Nana and Pappap's today!

Day 82 - Steak N Shake

We had to run errands today and Daddy decided to make Steak N Shake one of our stops!  It was a good chance to get an updated picture of Katelyn there (we have some from when she was very small!)

And Daddy and Emily got in on the fun too!

Day 80 - Red Nation

Last week, Katelyn had a play date with one of her friends and they went to her brother's baseball practice and then dinner at a restaurant near our house.  When she came home she went on and on about how good this pizza was, and tonight she insisted we try it out.

The food was ok...James really loved this massive burger!  But she apparently the real reason she wanted to go there was the game room, with video games and an air hockey table. Plus, her friends hang out there...we barely saw her the whole time we were there lol!!  What a social butterfly she is!

Day 79 - Jump! Jump!

Emily likes the bounce house finally!! Although, that's actually not a good thing, because now she goes over to it and bangs on it and demands we blow it up...everyday!

Emily picked up her play phone and says "hewwo daddy! Daddy! Blah blah blah blah Bobby!" I think she's tattling on me! (She calls me Bobby, lol)

Day 71 - Arabian Nights...

Maybe now you'll have this song stuck in your head too, lol!  Katelyn's dance for recital is Arabian Nights from Aladdin!  She looks so cute in her costume!

Day 70 - Kindle Emily

Today's picture is courtesy of Nana and I could NOT stop laughing when I saw it, so I knew it had to be the picture of the day!  

When Katelyn was a baby, Baby Einstein was this big thing.  She LOVED the Baby MacDonald video and when Daddy was hanging out with Emily a few days ago, he remembered and looked it up on Youtube for Emily.  He created a MONSTER!  Everytime she sees the Kindle she demands "Moo! Cow! EiEiOOO!"  And then she just watches it, enthralled until it ends.  I have to hide the Kindle if I don't want her spending her day like this, lol.

Day 69 - Picnic Weather

Today the weather outside was "not freezing" and also "not snowing or raining".  In Katelyn's mind, that meant picnic weather!  (It was like 58 degrees out there and not sunny, so I did not think it was picnic weather, LOL!)

Day 68 - Sleeping Beauty Ballet

Every Christmas, we visit the mall to see the Miami Valley Dance Academy perform The Nutcracker.  Today, I noticed that they were showcasing their spring show, Sleeping Beauty at the mall.  Katelyn loves dancing, so we decided to spend our afternoon at the mall.

Day 67 - Caterpillar Crafts

Today we had an egg carton that was begging to be a craft, so Katelyn made caterpillars.  I love these pictures of her!

Day 66 - Spring Concert

Today was Katelyn's first choir concert!!  I can't even tell you how excited I was for this!  She got to sing in the same auditorium that I did all my choir concerts from 7th grade on!  So cool.   For some reason (I guess work, homework, and dinner, lol) they scheduled this thing at 7 pm, which is bedtime and Katelyn is VERY sleepy for all of it!  And I used a new memory card and it ate half my pictures and all the zoomed in video I took.  Sad times. But I have a few photos and one of Nana's videos for you!

Day 65 - Snow Day!!

We FINALLY got snowman snow!  Katelyn was so excited to have a snow day and play outside!

Day 64 - Snack

Emily can say Snack!  Snack and Juice are two words she loves to say, followed by lugging me jugs of juice, trying to open the fridge or attempting to climb into her seat.  She can do it ALL BY HERSELF! Lol.  She's so funny.  Today she decided she should get Daddy's cereal for her snack:

Day 63 - Bobby

Emily has said Daddy, Katelyn, Pappap...even Papa! For awhile now, but she refuses to call me and Nana anything, she just waves her hands at us and says UH!! UH!! When she wants us.  But this week, she finally started saying Mommy....except it sounds just like Bobby!!  Silly goose!  Nana had to bring her to see me at work today (I can't remember why) and she took this video of Emily after she told her where they were going!

Day 62 - Glue Hands

We had to decorate a paper easter egg for Katelyn's class today.   It was supposed to be a family project and Katelyn had a lot of fun helping me glue tissue paper to our egg.  Daddy had a lot of fun reminiscing about goofing off in school with glue, lol!  He showed Katelyn how to make a glue "skin" of her hand.  She thought it was super cool!

Day 61 - Spoiled....

Katelyn wants an expensive doll for her birthday.  I told her we would get her the doll, but she wouldn't be able to have a big party if we did.  She said "That's ok!  We can have a free party at home!  Nana can make the cake and we can have a bounce house!"  Obviously, we need to work on her concept of FREE.  I looked into the bounce house idea and since we can buy one on Craigslist and resell it for what we paid for it after the party, it was kind of free.  And someone was selling a princess one!   So we went to get the bounce house today and of course they had to test it out! Katelyn loved it, but Emily was pretty scared of it for awhile.

Day 60 - Silly Emily

We went to visit Nana and Pappap tonight!  Emily thought it was super funny to fill Katelyn's shoe up with blocks!

Day 59 - Playdate

Katelyn was so excited, her friend Catelyn got to come over and play today!  They had lots of fun with playdough!

Day 58 - Lost tooth

Katelyn lost another tooth today!!

Day 57 - Tubes and Tunnels

Daddy decided we should take the girls to the tubes and tunnels today.  They had SO much fun!  Even Emily really loved it!

Day 56 - Sleepy Emily

I am such a bad blogger...this post is like 11 days late and it's not a great picture even.

Emily LOVES this blanket that my mom and I made her and she HAS to have it to go to bed at night.  In particular, she loves to rub the little blue squares between her fingers as she falls asleep.
