Day 302 - Leaf Thief Strikes Again

Every fall, Katelyn is extremely sad by the fact that we have no trees in our yard.  But lucky for her all the neighbors too.  So she steals their leaves for her yard!

Day 301 - Pumpkin Patch

We took the girls to the Pumpkin Patch and Hayride today.  They had a lot of fun, but they were way more interested in the farm than in smiling for my camera!

Day 300 - Mommy's other helper

I know I've posted pictures of Katelyn "helping" me out on here, but today it's Emily's turn!  She got a hold of this broom this morning while I was cleaning up and carried it all over, even though it's HUGE compared to her!  She's in that really fun stage where she likes to imitate me.  She loves to shut the refrigerator and you have to watch her, because if I leave it open, she'll set whatever is in her hands on her shelf before she closes it.  I found her shoe in there today!!

Day 299 - Bye Bye

We got Emily her own purse for her birthday, since she loves everyone else's so much.  Oddly enough, Emily isn't at all interested in the things in the purse, but today she decided she loves to carry it around.  She puts it over her arm and then walks over to the door, like let's go!!  Emily really, really loves to go outside!

Day 298 - Halloween at Skateway

Tonight was the Halloween Party at Skateway.  We forgot to dress up last year, (I think Emily was a week old about this time, so I was understandably running behind, lol!), so Katelyn was super excited to dress up this year!

Her actual Halloween costume is a witch, but she has a really big skirt, so we didn't want to take it skating and we chose 80's girl instead.  Emily is a black cat.

There was a costume contest that was judged by three teenage boys. Katelyn won for most original costume.  Apparently, they thought she was Hannah Montana, lol!

Day 297 - Crayons

Emily loves crayons.   It doesn't matter how good we clean up, she can ALWAYS find one!  Katelyn hates to share though, so we asked for some for Emily's birthday and Mama and Papa got her some!

She's way too little to color for real, but she really had fun trying.  She would go back and forth between concentrating super hard and yelling at the crayons.  SO cute!

Day 296 - 1 year check up!

Emily had her 1 year check up today.  I'm still not feeling great, so I flaked on taking a good picture again.  She got this pillow pet for her birthday and she LOVES him.  He's so soft and fluffy, I brought him today because I knew she'd be sad after her shots.  When I pulled up at the doctor's, her hands were full of green fluff from where she was petting him!

Emily's doctor visit was great!  The doctor said she was more verbal than an average 15 month old and she was very impressed with how well Emily is walking!  She is 31 inches tall and weighs 20ish lbs (they weighed her in her clothes and shoes for some reason.)

Day 295 - Birthday Party!

We had Emily's 1st Birthday party today!  It was a great day!

Day 294 - Sweetest Day

Daddy remembered it was Sweetest Day today and he brought us all flowers!  I think it was Emily's very first flower!

He taught Emily all about soccer this afternoon too!

Day 293 - Turkey Feather

Katelyn brought home this goofy craft for school today.  We had to decorate a turkey feather for, I'm guessing, a big turkey they'll put together at school.  The paper said we could use cereal or glitter and I needed to go to the craft store anyway, so Katelyn was determined we would decorate our feather today!

We also managed to get Katelyn a new bike and all the rest of the things for Emily's party Sunday!

Day 292 - Happy Birthday, Emily!!

Somebody turned 1 today!!

Day 291 - Toast

Today, I still wasn't feeling great, so I made toast for lunch.  As soon as Emily saw my toast, she started going "Mmmm! Mmmm!" Which means she wants some too.  I gave her a little piece, and she ended up eating almost a whole slice!   She was so funny, she kept shoving it in her mouth and going, "Mmm. Mmm. MMM." While she was chewing!!

Day 290 - 1st Birthday Pics

Nana and Ciocia Ricky came today and kidnapped Emily so I could sleep.  They took her to Germantown Reserve to take really cute pictures!

Day 289 - School Pictures

Unfortunately, I was super sick today and I didn't get a good picture of the girls.  Katelyn's school pictures came today though and she looks so grown up!

Day 288 - My Family

Today, I needed to take a picture of "something that makes me laugh" and "my family".   Sigh.

Day 287 - Thank You

Emily says a few words really well.  Daddy, kitty, bye bye, Pappap...but my favorite is Thank You.  She says it anytime you hand her something or give her something.  So if I give her a toy or a sippy cup, she says thank you.  Or when you put food on her tray, she says thank you...it's adorable!

Tonight, we took the girls out for ice cream and Katelyn's came first.  She was eating and Emily was watching her saying "mmm, mmm, MMM!" which is her way of saying, give me some too please!  But Katelyn wasn't sharing.  Daddy's came next and he set this HUGE ice cream down in front of Emily and her eyes got huge and she said "thank you, THANK YOU!" it was SO funny!

Day 286 - Hats!

Katelyn got a new winter hat!

And she spent the whole afternoon pretending she was a wolf in Emily's halloween costume.  (it's supposed to be a black cat lol!)

Day 285 - Grandparents Day!

First, Emily is feeling WAY  better!!

Chicken noodle soup and goldfish make a happy baby!

Today was Grandparents Day at Katelyn's school and she got Nana, Pappap, and Mamaw to come!

Day 284 - And an ear infection?!

Poor Emily!  Last night the UC Dr said her ears looked fine, but when we showed up for our pediatrician visit this morning, she wouldn't let them take her temp in her ear.  Uh oh.  Emily never minds anyone looking in or touching her ears.  Sure enough, after I had to hold her down so the dr could check, it's an ear infection.  : (  Poor baby.

So that's croup, an ear infection, and she's getting her top two teeth (they finally broke through and are huge!) her mouth is so sore.  It's a very bad Emily day.

Emily has temper tantrums.  I don't remember Katelyn having these.   But she gets mad and she'll sit down and kick her feet and then roll around the floor.  It's usually kind of funny.  Today's was so sad though.  Her ear infection has her off balance so she kept trying to walk around and drink her milk and she kept falling over. She got so mad! Poor kid.

Day 283 - Croup

Today, Emily and I had to go to Cincinnati to get my phone fixed.   Last week, Katelyn had a cough and a snotty nose, so when Emily woke up with a cough this morning, I didn't think a lot of it.  I called the nurses line at the pediatrician to see what we could do for her and while I was waiting, we bundled up and headed to our appointment.   While my phone was getting replaced (for free because of a battery defect), the ped called back and asked about Emily's symptoms and then said it sounded like she had croup.  My only experience with croup is that scene in Anne of Green Gables where Anne saves that little girl by dragging her outside in the cold and Emily really didn't seem that sick, so we decided I should just keep an eye on her and get her some Zyrtec while we were out.  So my phone is fixed and we needed lunch before we headed home.  The whole time I was eating, Emily was standing beside me leaning her head on my shoulder and every now and then she'd cough this awful cough.  So I decided to see if there was a pediatrician appointment and of course there wasn't so I made one for the morning.     By the time Nana came to take Katelyn to ballet, Emily was miserable.   Coughing and wheezy and she just wanted to lay around.  : (  So we headed off to Urgent Care.  They agreed that it was croup and gave us a steroid to help her feel better.

When she wasn't being sad and snuggly, Emily was carrying her blanket around the office like Linus, lol.

Day 282 - Fire House Open House

Tonight we did the open house at our fire department.  It was pretty cool, they had a truck and an ambulance out the kids could check out.  There was a chili cook off for the grown ups and we could tour the inside of the station. Out back they had a smoke house, so kids could go in and see what a dark, smoky room was like and practice getting below the smoke to get out. They also had a fake fire set up that kids could put out.  It was a fun event!

Day 281 - Going Home

Today we had to travel home from WV.  I think Katelyn's face here explains perfectly how we felt about that.

Day 280 - Campfire

We had our family reunion today.  There will be pics on FB soon, but I like this one of me and Emily at the campfire tonight.

Day 279 - Good Zoo Boo

Nana, Pappap, Ricky and the girls went to the zoo today.

Day 278 - Traveling

We are going to WV for the weekend and Nana went down early with Emily.

Day 277 - Roller Skating

It's Wednesday, so we went roller skating!  Katelyn loves to go, but it's hard with Emily right now, because she wants to be out with the skaters and they're going to knock her over!  Here she is sneaking out on the floor!

Day 276 - Slug!

It's been rainy and Katelyn and Nana found a giant slug in the yard!

Day 275 - Morning!

Katelyn gets up for school at 6:30 and no matter how quiet we are, Emily usually gets up too.   This morning I got the cutest picture of them playing while Katelyn was taking a shower!

Day 274 - Playdate

We had a playdate at the outlet mall today!  It was a pretty day and the girls needed some fall things.  Katelyn likes to shop at the outlet mall because we can play at the playground when we're done shopping.  Emily had fun walking back and forth and pretending she was a big girl!

Day 273 - Modeling

A few weeks ago, I got to sign Emily up for some free pics, if she modeled some hats for a local photographer.

Day 272 - New Hat

Sorry, I still can't resist pictures of my kids in hats!  Emily got a new winter hat from Nana today!
