Day 231 - Open House

Today was Open House at Katelyn's school.  She hasn't been very excited for school to start, we've been having a lot of fun this summer.  And she was even less excited when she realized NONE of her friends are in her class.  So I really had a hard time getting her excited about going back.  Luckily, her Open House tonight went super well!  When we got there, her teacher gave us a scavenger hunt...we had to check off things like "sign up for conferences" and "find out what number your coat hook is".  This honestly could not have been a better set up for us!  Katelyn has been very worried she wouldn't know where to put her bag and she wanted to set up her desk and know when her gym and music classes were.  All of those things we found out on the scavenger hunt, plus she got to play with the smart board AND she found out she gets to be line leader the first week of school.  She is very excited now! (Mostly, she's still bummed that summer is over!)  Hopefully, her teacher is as great as her open house was!
