Day 99 - Strawberry Shortcake

A few weeks ago, we went to see Despicable Me at the movies. Our movie theater loves to encourage kids to come to the movies (and to encourage moms to spend $16 on popcorn, lol!), so they have kids movies all the time, sometimes free and sometimes for a discount. When we were at Despicable Me, they gave us the dates for the next event, which was a Strawberry Shortcake movie this weekend. The event said to dress your kid up as their favorite Strawberry Shortcake character for a parade. Sadly, I had 90% of a Strawberry Shortcake costume lying around, and with a little Photoshop and a new hat from Nana, Katelyn was ready to see the movie dressed as Strawberry today!

For some reason, Katelyn was the ONLY little girl who dressed up, so she got to go up front and get her picture taken and have the theater girls squeal over how cute she was. Somehow the movie had malfunctioned and they had to go buy a new Strawberry movie for us to watch (This happened before we arrived). They gave us free tickets for the inconvenience of seeing a different Strawberry movie than we expected to see (apparently they didn't realize that you could see the movie for free on Netflix, lol!). So Katelyn got to take the new Strawberry movie home (for "winning" the costume contest), and we got six free tickets to go see a different movie! After the movie, they had popcorn and a game and coloring for the kids. Katelyn was excited to color with the other little girls. She had a very good day!
